This tutorial shows how to fork a public Replit project so you can edit and experiment with it independently in your own account.
Note: You need a Replit account to fork a project. Sign up at replit.com if you don’t have one yet. In Replit, forking a project is done using the Remix feature.
- Sign in at replit.com and navigate to the public project you want to fork, or browse projects at replit.com/gallery.
- Click the Remix Template button near the top of the project page.
- It will take you to your workspace. Click Remix this app to proceed.
- Rename the project if needed, then choose whether to keep it Public or set it to Private.
- Click the Remix App button below the project page to confirm. Replit creates a copy of the project and opens it in your workspace.
