This tutorial shows how to filter by month in Power BI using a Slicer visual connected to a date field. Once configured, all report visualizations update automatically based on the selected month.
Steps
- Open Power BI Desktop and navigate to the report where you want to implement month filtering.
- In the Visualizations pane on the right side, locate and click the Slicer visual icon to add a new slicer to your report.
- Find your date field in the Fields pane and drag it into the empty slicer you created to set up the month filter.
- Under the Date field, select Month to configure the slicer to filter by month.
- Select specific months in the slicer — all visualizations will update automatically to display only data from the selected month or months.
