Quick summary
To fade the edges of a photo in Canva, you use a gradient frame from the Elements panel and place your image inside it to create a smooth, transparent-edge effect. Duplicating and repositioning the frame lets you apply the faded edge effect to multiple sides of your photo.
Steps
- On the edit toolbar, click Elements.
- Enter Gradient frame in the search bar and select from the results.
- Click your preferred frame and it will automatically be added to your Canva design.
- Adjust the size and position of the gradient frame on your canvas.
- Place your photo inside the frame to achieve the faded edge effect.
- Click the duplicate icon to copy the gradient frame.
- Adjust the position of the duplicated gradient frame.
- Place it on the opposite side to apply the faded edge effect to both edges.
- Click Share to save or download your finished design.
