Use this interactive demo to learn how to enable audit history in Microsoft Dynamics 365.

‍

‍

To enable audit history, follow these steps:

‍

  1. First, head to 'Settings' to access system configurations by clicking the gear icon.
  2. Select 'Advanced Settings'. This is where all the administrative magic happens.
  3. Now, select 'Administration' to dive into system-level options.
  4. Select 'Auditing' to continue.
  5. Click 'Global Audit Settings'.
  6. Check the box that says 'Start Auditing' to enable the feature across your organization
  7. Also enable 'Audit user access' if you want to track login activity, helpful for compliance and security reviews.
  8. Select the entity you want to monitor.
  9. Click 'OK' and that's it! You've successfully enabled Audit History in Dynamics 365. Now, you can track changes and maintain accountability.

📌 Why this matters

Enabling audit history transforms your CRM from a black box into a transparent accountability system. You'll track who changed what data and when, making it invaluable for compliance reviews, dispute resolution, and identifying training gaps.

Beyond basic change tracking, audit logs reveal user behavior patterns that help you optimize workflows and spot potential security issues before they escalate. This visibility becomes your safety net when clients question billing changes or regulators request documentation of your data handling practices.
