To downgrade TurboTax without starting over, follow these simple steps:

Head to your TurboTax account and click "Switch Products" in the left menu, it's your ticket to changing editions.
Now click "Downgrade" to start the process.
Click "Downgrade to Free Edition" to finish. Note that this only works if you haven't paid or filed yet.

You might discover your tax situation is simpler than expected after starting with a premium edition, or realize you're paying for features you don't actually need. Beyond saving money, downgrading preserves all your entered data while switching to the appropriate service level.
