Quick summary
A hanging indent in Google Slides keeps the first line of a paragraph flush left while indenting subsequent lines, ideal for citations and bullet lists. You can apply it on Mac using the Format options sidebar without any keyboard shortcuts or third-party tools.
Steps
- Open your presentation in Google Slides.
- Select the text you want to indent.
- In the top toolbar, click Format options.
- In the Format options sidebar, click Text fitting and click the drop-down arrow under Special.
- Set the Special indent type to Hanging and adjust the value if needed.
- Review your updated text on the slide to confirm the hanging indent is applied.
