Creating a KPI visual in Power BI lets you track key metrics at a glance by combining a value, a goal, and a trend in a single chart. This tutorial walks you through selecting the right visual, configuring the Visualizations pane, and mapping your data fields to generate a fully functional KPI.
Steps
- Open your Power BI report and select the visual you want to convert or replace with a KPI.
- Navigate to the Visualizations pane on the right side of the Power BI canvas.
- Click the KPI icon in the Visualizations pane to apply the KPI visual type.
- Drag and drop your data fields — such as Value, Target, and Trend Axis — into the KPI visual configuration.
- Your KPI visual is now created and will display your metric alongside its target and trend in Power BI.
