Use this interactive demo to learn how to create custom forms in Airtable using a pre-built template.

‍

‍

It is very easy to create forms in Airtable using a template. Here’s a short guide on how to do it:

‍

  1. On Airtable's main dashboard, go to the left-side panel and click 'Templates and 'Apps'.
  2. Following that, click 'See All' to view the entire template collection.
  3. Under the By Feature section, choose 'Forms'.
  4. Find and select the form template you want to use.
  5. Subsequently, click 'Use Template' to continue.
  6. Select the workspace where you want to install the new base for your form.
  7. Once done, click 'Add Base'.
  8. A new Airtablebase will be created for your form. From there, go to the 'Forms' tab.
  9. Review the appearance and content of the newly generated form. If you want to make a change, simply click on the form.
  10. After that, access the right-side panel and use the available options to implement your desired adjustments.
  11. Once done, click 'Publish' in the top-right corner.
  12. Select the type of access you want to grant.
  13. Subsequently, click 'Copy Link' to share the form with other people.
  14. Finally, your Airtable form will be created from the selected template.

📌 Why this matters

Creating forms from templates lets you collect structured data without building databases from scratch. You get pre-configured field types, validation rules, and layouts that work immediately. The real advantage is that your form responses automatically populate a relational database with built-in views, filters, and automation capabilities.

This means your data collection becomes part of a larger workflow system rather than isolated responses sitting in a basic form tool, enabling everything from automated follow-ups to complex data analysis.
