How to Create Custom Metrics in Amplitude

‍

‍

It is very easy to create custom metrics in Amplitude. Here’s a short guide on how to do it:

‍

  1. Inside Amplitude's experiment editor, head over to the Goals tab and click its corresponding 'Pencil' icon.
  2. After that, tap the 'Create a Custom Metric' button under the Define the Goal section.
  3. Click the title field, then enter a unique metric label. At the same time, write a short description and type it into the field right below the title.
  4. Following that, specify your preferred 'Metric Type' and Events'. Simply tap their respective menus and pick your preferred choices.
  5. Once done, tap 'Save and Close' to proceed.
  6. After completing these steps, the custom metric will be created and added to your goal experiment.
