This guide walks you through installing a custom Joomla component via the Extension Manager using an uploaded ZIP package file. Once installed, the component appears in the Components menu and is immediately accessible from the Joomla administrator dashboard.
Steps
- Click on the System menu in the top navigation bar to access Joomla's administration tools.
- Select Extensions from the dropdown menu to open the Extension Manager where new components can be installed.
- Navigate to the Upload Package File tab to begin adding your custom component to Joomla.
- Click Browse or Choose File to locate your component ZIP file on your computer.
- Select your component package file (must be a .zip format) to prepare it for upload.
- Confirm the successful installation message displayed on screen by Joomla.
