Quick summary
This demo shows how to create a Zap that automatically sends a Telegram message whenever a new file is uploaded to Google Drive, using Zapier's no-code automation editor. By connecting Google Drive as the trigger and Telegram as the action, teams can receive instant bot notifications for every new upload without writing a single line of code.
Steps
- Go to the left-side panel and tap 'Create' to start building a new automation.
- Choose 'Zaps' from the list of options.
- Click 'Trigger' to begin setting up the integration's trigger step.
- Search for 'Google Drive' and select it from the suggested results as your trigger app.
- Click the 'Trigger Event' menu to view available trigger options.
- Select 'New File' from the list to trigger the Zap on every new Google Drive upload.
- Tap 'Sign In' and log into your Google account to connect it to Zapier.
- Click 'Allow' to accept the terms and grant the necessary permissions to Zapier.
- Provide the required details, such as specifying the Google Drive folder you want to monitor for new uploads.
- Tap 'Continue' to run your input and test the Trigger.
- Select the record you wish to connect, then tap 'Continue With Selected Record'.
- Search for 'Telegram' and select it as the Action app.
- Tap the 'Action Event' menu to view available action options.
- Choose 'Send Message' from the list as the Telegram action.
- Click 'Sign In' to connect your Telegram account to Zapier.
- Enter your Bot Token and click 'Yes, Continue to Telegram' to authenticate.
- Fill out the input fields one by one with the required Telegram action details.
- For the 'Message Text' field, open its text box and click the 'Add' icon to insert dynamic data.
- Choose 'File' from the list of options to map the Google Drive file to the message.
- Tap 'Continue' to publish and enable the integration.
- Your Google Drive uploads are now connected to Telegram — every new file added to Google Drive will be automatically sent as a bot message to your Telegram account.
