Quick summary
Cloning a Jira epic with child issues lets teams instantly replicate complex work structures without manual re-entry. Use the built-in Clone action to copy the epic, its metadata, and all linked child work items in just a few clicks.
Steps
- In your Jira project, find and select the epic you want to clone.
- Click the Actions button in the top-right corner of the epic view.
- Choose Clone from the list of available options.
- Fill in all required details including Summary, Assignee, and Reporter.
- Tick the checkboxes beside the items to include, ensuring the child work item is selected.
- Click the Clone button to confirm and proceed.
- The selected epic with child issues will be successfully cloned in your Jira space.
