Quick summary
Google Search Console lets you check backlinks by navigating to the Links report, where you can view external links, top linking sites, and linking domains. You can also export backlink data directly from the interface in your preferred format.
Steps
- Select your website property from the Google Search Console dashboard to begin checking backlinks for the correct site.
- Click the Links option in the sidebar to open the full links report.
- Navigate to the Top linking sites report to see which external domains are linking to your site.
- Click MORE to expand and view the complete list of linking sites beyond the default preview.
- Review the total number of external links pointing to your site in the links summary section.
- Browse the full list of linking domains to identify which sites are sending backlinks to your pages.
- Click EXPORT to download the complete backlink data in your preferred file format.
