Use this interactive demo to learn how to manually connect a custom domain in Leadpages.

Quick summary

Manually changing your Leadpages domain name requires connecting a custom domain via the Domains panel and copying CNAME and host records into your domain registrar. This step-by-step process gives you full control over your landing page URL without relying on automatic DNS configuration.

Steps

  1. In the left-side panel, click Domains.
  2. Click Connect a Domain in the top-right corner.
  3. Enter your domain URL into the provided input field.
  4. Click Continue to proceed.
  5. Select Manual from the available connection options.
  6. Copy the generated host value using the Copy button and paste it into your Domain Management Page.
  7. Copy the CNAME record value and paste it into your Domain Management Page as well.
  8. Click Next to advance to the redirect step.
  9. Click Redirect My Domain to proceed.
  10. Copy the Host value provided and paste it into your Domain Management Page.
  11. Copy the provided IP Address value and paste it into your Domain Management Page.
  12. Click Next to save all changes and enable the new domain name.

📌 Why this matters

Connecting a custom domain to your Leadpages landing pages reinforces brand credibility and improves trust with visitors by replacing the default subdomain with your own URL. Manual domain configuration gives marketers and developers precise control over DNS settings, including CNAME and A records, without depending on automated integrations that may not work with every registrar. This flexibility is essential for businesses using third-party domain providers or managing complex multi-domain setups. A branded, custom domain on your landing pages also supports SEO by ensuring consistent URL authority and preventing duplicate-content issues caused by generic subdomains.
