This demo shows how to change highlight opacity in Google Slides using the Fill color and Custom color menu. Adjusting highlight transparency lets you layer text and visuals without obscuring slide content.
Steps
- Select the shape or text box containing the highlight you want to adjust.
- Click the Fill color button in the toolbar to open color options.
- Navigate to the Custom menu within the color picker.
- Use the opacity slider to adjust transparency — drag left for more see-through, right for solid.
- Preview your changes in real-time and click OK when you are happy with the result.
- Your highlight now has the perfect opacity level applied.
