To change the data source in Power BI Desktop, follow these steps:
- Let's start by opening Power BI Desktop and loading a report with the data source you want to change.
- Now, click the ‘Transform Data’ button in the Home tab to open the Power Query Editor, where we can modify our data connections.
- Find and click ' Data source settings ' in the Power Query Editor ribbon.
- In the Data Source settings window that pops up, select the data source you want to modify, then click the 'Change Source' button.
- Enter your new connection details, depending on your source type.
- Click 'OK' to save your changes. Your report is now connected to the new data source.
