How To Archive a Slack Channel

Use this interactive demo to learn how to archive a Slack channel.

Follow these steps to archive a channel:

Navigate to the channel you want to archive.
Click on the channel's name at the top of the conversation window.
Select "Settings", then "Archive channel for everyone".
Confirm by clicking "Archive channel".

Note: If you have the necessary permissions, you can choose Disconnect & archive to disconnect a Slack Connect channel from other organizations and archive it.

Tip: The #general channel can't be archived or deleted.
