- Quick heads-up: you can only add your spouse's W-2 if you've already selected "Married" and "Plan to file jointly" during setup.
- Start by clicking on the "Federal" tab in the left menu.
- Now select "Income" to access all income-related sections.
- Scroll down to "Wage and Salaries (W-2)" and click "Review" to see your current W-2 forms.
- Click "Add another W-2" to start entering your spouse's form.
- When prompted "Who does this W-2 belong to?", select "Spouse" from the options.
- Enter the Employer Identification Number (EIN) from Box b—it's the 9-digit number formatted like XX-XXXXXXX.
- Choose "Type it in myself" to manually enter the W-2 details.
- Enter your spouse's employer name exactly as shown on their W-2.
- Fill in the employee information from each corresponding box on the W-2.
- Review the information to make sure it's accurate, then click "Continue" to save.
