How to Add an MCP Server to Claude Desktop

It is very easy to add an MCP server to the Claude desktop app. Here’s a short tutorial on how to do it:

1. On Claude's main dashboard, head over to the left-side panel and click your 'Profile' tab.
2. Select 'Settings' from the list of options.
3. Following that, tap the 'Developer' tab.
4. Subsequently, click 'Edit Config' and open its claude_desktop_config.json file from your local folder.
5. Using your preferred source code editor, add your MCP server details.
6. Subsequently, check the details well and save the changes afterward.
7. After completing these steps, the MCP server will be added to your Claude desktop app.
