Quick summary
Creating subtasks in Airtable requires adding a Long Text field with the Rich Text and Checklists options enabled. Once configured, you can write and track subtasks directly within any record using interactive checkboxes linked to your main task.
Steps
- Add a new column by clicking the + button in the header row of your Airtable table.
- Select Long Text as the field type from the available options.
- Enable the Rich Text Field toggle, then click Create field to save the new column.
- Drag and drop the new column to position it next to your main task and status columns.
- Click the expand icon on the field to open the expanded record view.
- Click the ¶ symbol to open the text input formatting options.
- Select the Checklists option to enable checkboxes in your Rich Text Editor.
- Write your subtasks as individual checklist items inside the field.
- Your subtasks are now created and associated with the main task in Airtable.
