Quick summary
This demo shows how to connect Microsoft Teams to Discord using a Zapier automation, so new Teams messages or mentions are automatically forwarded as Discord channel messages. It is a no-code workflow that eliminates manual cross-platform copy-pasting and keeps distributed teams in sync in real time.
Steps
- Log in to Zapier, click "Create", and select "Zaps" to begin building your automation.
- Click "Trigger" to open the trigger configuration panel.
- Search for Microsoft Teams and select it as your trigger app.
- Choose a trigger event such as "New Channel Message" or "New Team Mention".
- Connect your Microsoft Teams account and select the specific team and channel you want to monitor.
- Add Discord as the Action App in your Zap.
- Select an action event such as "Send Channel Message" to define what Discord does when triggered.
- Connect your Discord account to authorize Zapier access.
- Map the Teams message fields — such as message text and sender name — to the corresponding Discord message fields.
- Run a test to verify that Teams messages are forwarded to Discord correctly.
- Click "Publish" to activate your Zap and make the automation live.
