In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to use a green screen clip to place a subject on a different background in Clipchamp.
- Click Import media and upload your green screen video and a background image or video.
- Drag the background clip onto the timeline first.
- Drag the green screen clip onto the track above the background.
- Select the green screen clip then open the Effects tab on the right panel.
- Click the Green screen effect and ensure Green is selected in Screen color as the color to remove.
- Adjust the Screen threshold slider if needed and preview the result.
- Your subject now appears on the new background.
Note: Green is the most common color used for chroma key because it rarely appears in skin tones and is easy for editing software to detect and remove.
