How to Remove Overset Text in Adobe InDesign

Here’s a quick and simple guide on how to remove overset text using the Story Editor in Adobe InDesign.

1. To remove overset text in Adobe InDesign, select ‘Edit in Story Editor’ from the Edit menu.
2. A window will open displaying all the paragraph text, including any overset text. Highlight the overset text that aligns beside the vertical red line.
3. Once highlighted, press 'Delete' to remove it from the paragraph text.‍
4. The overset text has now been removed, as indicated in the Preflight panel.
