How to Remove Filler Words in Descript

Descript's Remove Filler Words feature uses the Underlord AI panel to automatically detect and delete filler words — such as "um" and "uh" — from your audio or video transcript. You can choose to delete, replace with a gap, ignore, or remove filler words from the transcript only, giving you full control over your edit.

Steps

1. Open your project in Descript.
2. Click the Underlord button on the right side of the window.
3. Select "Remove Filler Words" from the Underlord menu.
4. Select "Find all filler words" to scan your transcript.
5. Choose your preferred action: "Delete", "Delete and Replace with Gap", "Ignore", or "Remove from Transcript".
6. Click "Remove" to finalize the removal.
