It is very easy to rank data in Microsoft Excel. Here’s a short tutorial on how to do it in simple steps:
- To get started, select a cell under the column you wish to use for ranking.
- Go to the top menu bar afterwards, then click 'Formulas'.
- Subsequently, find and select 'More Functions'.
- Hover your mouse cursor over the 'Statistical' option and then choose 'Rank.EQ'.
- Following that, click the 'Number' input field and enter the cell reference containing the data you wish to rank.
- Likewise, click the 'REF' input field and specify the cell range you wish to use for ranking.
- Enter "0" into the 'Order' input field if you wish to rank the data in descending order. Otherwise, write "1".
- Once done, tap 'Insert' to run the formula.
- After completing these steps, the selected Excel data will be ranked based on your input.
