How to Rank Data in Microsoft Excel

‍

‍

It is very easy to rank data in Microsoft Excel. Here’s a short tutorial on how to do it in simple steps:

‍

  1. To get started, select a cell under the column you wish to use for ranking.
  2. Go to the top menu bar afterwards, then click 'Formulas'.
  3. Subsequently, find and select 'More Functions'.
  4. Hover your mouse cursor over the 'Statistical' option and then choose 'Rank.EQ'.
  5. Following that, click the 'Number' input field and enter the cell reference containing the data you wish to rank.
  6. Likewise, click the 'REF' input field and specify the cell range you wish to use for ranking.
  7. Enter "0" into the 'Order' input field if you wish to rank the data in descending order. Otherwise, write "1".
  8. Once done, tap 'Insert' to run the formula.
  9. After completing these steps, the selected Excel data will be ranked based on your input.
