Use this interactive demo to learn how to set up repeating events in your Notion calendar.

Quick summary

Notion does not have a built-in recurring events feature, but you can simulate one by creating a reusable event template and using the Repeat option to set a recurrence frequency directly from your Notion calendar.

Steps

  1. Open a calendar page in Notion to begin adding recurring events.
  2. Click the (+) icon on the day you want the recurring event to start.
  3. In the new event pop-up, create a template that will serve as your recurring event base.
  4. Edit the template with the desired event details and settings.
  5. Use the top-left back button to return to the main event page.
  6. Hover over the newly created template to reveal its options.
  7. Click the three dotted icon on the right side to open the template menu.
  8. Select Repeat from the options menu.
  9. Choose how frequently the event should repeat (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.).
  10. Customize your recurring event settings and click Save.
  11. Click on the recurring template to add it as an event on any calendar day.
  12. Customize the individual event as needed, then click outside it to return to the calendar.
  13. Your recurring event is now saved and will appear across your Notion calendar.

📌 Why this matters

Notion's calendar view is a powerful tool for managing schedules, but many users don't realize they can create recurring events using the platform's built-in template and Repeat features. Setting up repeating events in Notion eliminates the need to manually re-enter regular meetings, deadlines, or routines, saving time and reducing scheduling errors. This workflow is especially valuable for teams and individuals who rely on Notion as an all-in-one productivity workspace and want to centralize their recurring schedule management without switching to a separate calendar app.
