Quick summary
A clickable button in PowerPoint is created by inserting a shape, adding label text, and linking it to another slide via Hyperlink. This technique enables interactive, non-linear presentations without any third-party tools.
Steps
- Go to the Insert tab in PowerPoint.
- Click Shapes located in the Illustrations section of the ribbon.
- Choose a shape to use as your button (e.g., a Rectangle).
- Draw the chosen shape onto your slide.
- Right-click on the shape and select Edit Text.
- Add button label text inside the shape (e.g., "Next", "Home", "Start", "Back").
- Right-click on the shape again and select Hyperlink.
- Choose Place in This Document from the Hyperlink dialog.
- Select the slide you want the button to link to.
- Click OK to confirm — the button will now jump to that slide when clicked during the presentation.
