This tutorial shows how to create a 3D box in PowerPoint using built-in Shape Effects and 3-D Format settings. You can turn any flat rectangle shape into a realistic 3D box without third-party tools.
Steps
- Go to the Insert tab in PowerPoint.
- Click Shapes from the Insert ribbon.
- Select a rectangle shape from the shapes panel.
- Drag and draw a square shape on your slide.
- Click Shape Effect located at the top of the ribbon.
- Click 3-D Rotation from the Shape Effect menu.
- Choose a preset rotation style (e.g. Off Axis 1 Left).
- Right-click your shape and select Format Shape.
- Click the Shape Effect option inside the Format Shape panel.
- Select 3-D Format from the effects list.
- Increase the Depth value to add thickness and complete the 3D box effect.
