This guide walks through installing the GitHub Integration by Integratecloud from the Zendesk Marketplace and authenticating it with your GitHub token.

Steps

  1. In the Admin Center, go to the left-side panel and click Apps and Integrations.
  2. Select Zendesk Support Apps from the list of options under the Apps section.
  3. Click Marketplace at the top-right corner.
  4. Search for GitHub and choose GitHub Integration by Integratecloud from the results.
  5. Click Install on the app detail page.
  6. Enter your Zendesk subdomain and tap Install to proceed.
  7. Configure the installation settings, fill in the required information to connect both apps, and click Install.
  8. From the Zendesk main dashboard, navigate to the left-side panel and click Views.
  9. Open any ticket from the list.
  10. Click the Apps icon in the right-corner sidebar.
  11. Select GitHub Integration by Integratecloud from the list of installed apps.
  12. Provide your Zendesk user credentials and click Next.

📌 Why this matters

Connecting Zendesk with GitHub bridges the gap between customer support and software development, allowing agents to reference GitHub issues and pull requests directly from a Zendesk ticket. This Zendesk-GitHub integration eliminates context-switching, speeds up bug escalation, and gives engineering teams visibility into customer-reported issues without leaving their workflow. For support-driven development teams, linking Zendesk tickets to GitHub repositories means faster resolution times and a tighter feedback loop between customer pain points and product fixes.
