How to Integrate Qlik with Twitter/X Ads

Use this interactive demo to learn how to integrate Qlik with Twitter Ads.

This tutorial shows how to connect Qlik Sense to Twitter Ads using the REST connector to load campaign and performance data for analysis.

Notes:

  • Qlik Sense does not have a native Twitter Ads connector. The REST connector using the X Ads API (formerly Twitter Ads API) is the recommended approach.
  • You need a developer account on the X Developer Portal with an approved Ads API access application and a valid OAuth 1.0a or OAuth 2.0 token.
  1. Log in and open your Qlik Sense app, and click Data load editor from the top menu.
  2. Click Create new connection in the Data connection panel on the right.
  3. Select REST from the connector list.
  4. Enter an X Ads API endpoint URL (for example, a campaign or analytics endpoint).
  5. In the request headers, add an Authorization header with your X access token, then click Test connection to verify the request.
  6. Click Create to store the connection. You can now access the saved connection, browse the available tables, and select the ones you want to load into your app.

📌 Why this matters

Twitter Ads data includes reach, engagement, and conversion metrics that are important for brands running awareness or retargeting campaigns on the platform. Loading this data into Qlik Sense lets you consolidate paid social performance across channels without relying on individual platform dashboards. This is particularly valuable for marketing teams that need to compare Twitter performance against LinkedIn, Facebook, or other channels in a single view. Centralizing the data in Qlik makes cross-channel reporting faster and reduces the manual effort of exporting and combining data from multiple sources.
