How to Integrate Qlik with Asana

Use this interactive demo to learn how to integrate Qlik with Asana.

This tutorial shows how to connect Qlik Sense to Asana using the REST connector to load project and task data for analysis.

Notes:

  • Qlik Sense does not have a native Asana connector. The REST connector using the Asana API is the recommended approach.
  • You need an Asana account and a valid personal access token from your Asana developer settings.
  1. Log in and open your Qlik Sense app, and click Data load editor from the top menu.
  2. Click Create new connection in the Data connection panel on the right.
  3. Select REST from the connector list.
  4. Enter an Asana API endpoint URL (for example, a workspace tasks endpoint).
  5. In the request headers, add an Authorization header with your Asana access token, then click Test connection to verify the request.
  6. Click Create to store the connection. You can now access the saved connection, browse the available tables, and select the ones you want to load into your app.

📌 Why this matters

Asana is a widely used project management tool that holds task assignments, project timelines, milestones, and completion data across teams. Loading Asana data into Qlik Sense lets project and operations leaders analyze workload distribution, task completion rates, and project health in ways that Asana's native reporting does not fully support. This is especially useful for organizations managing multiple projects simultaneously who need a consolidated view of team capacity and delivery progress. Centralizing Asana data in Qlik gives managers better visibility into performance trends without relying on manual status updates or exported spreadsheets.
