Use this interactive demo to learn how to connect Microsoft Excel with Strava using Zapier.

Quick summary

This tutorial walks you through integrating Microsoft Excel with Strava using a Zapier Zap, so your Strava activity data automatically flows into your Excel spreadsheets without manual exports. The step-by-step process covers setting up both a Trigger and an Action, authenticating both accounts, and publishing the live automation.

Steps

  1. Head over to the left-side panel and click Create.
  2. Choose Zaps from the list of options.
  3. Click Trigger to start the integration process.
  4. Search for Excel and select it from the suggested results as the Trigger app.
  5. Choose your preferred Trigger Event from the dropdown.
  6. Tap Sign In and log into your active Microsoft account.
  7. Click Continue to confirm your account connection.
  8. Fill out all input fields with the required information one by one.
  9. Tap Continue to run your input and test the Trigger.
  10. Click Continue one more time to proceed to the Action setup.
  11. Search for Strava and choose it as the Action app.
  12. Open the drop-down menu and specify your preferred Action Event.
  13. Tap Sign In and log into your Strava account.
  14. Click Authorize to grant the necessary permissions to Zapier.
  15. Provide all information needed to configure the Action fields.
  16. Click Continue to publish and activate the integration.
  17. Your Strava account is now integrated with Microsoft Excel via Zapier.

📌 Why this matters

Connecting Microsoft Excel with Strava via Zapier eliminates the manual effort of exporting and importing fitness activity data into spreadsheets. Athletes, coaches, and data enthusiasts can automatically log Strava workouts — such as runs, rides, and swims — directly into Excel for deeper analysis, reporting, and tracking. This no-code automation saves time, reduces human error, and ensures your performance data is always up to date in your preferred spreadsheet tool. It is an essential workflow for anyone who wants to combine Strava's activity tracking with Excel's powerful data analysis and visualization capabilities.
