Use this interactive demo to learn how to integrate Dynamics 365 with a document management tool.

‍

‍

Integrating Dynamics 365 with document management is primarily achieved through native SharePoint Integration. Here’s how to do it:

‍

  1. Start by clicking the gear icon in Dynamics 365 to open your settings.
  2. Now, head over to 'Advanced Settings' to access the deeper configuration options.
  3. Click the dropdown arrow next to 'Settings' to reveal more options.
  4. Select 'Document Management Settings' to start connecting your documents.
  5. Choose 'Enable server-based SharePoint integration'.
  6. Click 'Next' to move forward in the setup wizard.
  7. Pick whether your SharePoint sites are 'Online or On-Premises', then hit 'Next' to continue.
  8. Enter your SharePoint Online site URL here and click 'Next' to proceed.
  9. Once validation checks out, click 'Enable' to complete the integration with Document Management.

📌 Why this matters

This integration transforms scattered document workflows into a centralized system where your customer records, sales opportunities, and project files live alongside each other. You'll eliminate the constant switching between applications that kills productivity and creates version control nightmares.

Beyond convenience, SharePoint integration automatically maintains document security permissions that mirror your Dynamics 365 access controls, ensuring sensitive client information stays protected while remaining instantly accessible to authorized team members during critical business processes.
