‍

‍

Integrating Microsoft Dynamics 365 with Microsoft chat enables real-time collaboration directly within customer records. Here’s how to do it:

‍

  1. Open your Power Platform admin center and go to the 'Manage' menu.
  2. Go to the 'Environments' section and choose an environment.
  3. Navigate to 'Settings'.
  4. Select 'Integration'.
  5. Hit 'Teams integration settings' option.
  6. Turn on 'Turn on Microsoft Teams chats inside Dynamics 365'.
  7. Configure the Chat experience by clicking the 'App Settings'.
  8. Within 'App Settings', navigate to the 'Microsoft Teams collaboration' sub-area.
  9. Then, select 'Chat and collaborate'.
  10. Choose which table records can be connected to chats.
  11. Click 'Save' to confirm the changes.

📌 Why this matters

This integration transforms scattered customer conversations into organized, contextual collaboration hubs. Instead of juggling separate chat threads and CRM records, your entire team can discuss accounts, leads, and cases directly within the relevant customer data.

The real advantage emerges when multiple departments need to coordinate on complex customer issues. Sales, support, and success teams can collaborate in real-time while maintaining complete visibility into customer history, creating a single source of truth that prevents miscommunication and ensures everyone stays aligned on customer outcomes.
