How to Indent in Notion

Indenting in Notion lets you nest blocks under a parent block to create structured, hierarchical content. Use the Tab key to indent and Shift + Tab to outdent any block back to its default level.

Steps

1. Place your cursor at the beginning of the block or text you want to indent, or select it.
2. Press Tab to indent the block one level.
3. To return to the default indent level, place your cursor at the beginning of the text.
4. Press Shift + Tab to outdent the block back to its previous level.
