Use this interactive demo to learn how to increase the space between lines in your PowerPoint presentations.

‍

It is very easy to increase the space between the lines in PowerPoint. Here’s a short tutorial on how to do it:

  1. Inside the slide canvas of your PowerPoint presentation, find and select the text you want to edit.
  2. Following that, go to the Home menu and click the 'Line Spacing' option.
  3. Select one from the list. Consider the line spacing larger than the default.
  4. Finally, the space between the lines of the selected text in your PowerPoint presentation will be increased accordingly.

📌 Why this matters

Proper line spacing transforms dense, cramped text into readable content that your audience can actually absorb. When you increase spacing, you're not just making slides look better—you're reducing cognitive load and eye strain, especially crucial for presentations viewed from a distance or on smaller screens. Tighter spacing forces readers to work harder to distinguish between lines, causing them to lose focus on your actual message. Strategic spacing also helps emphasize key points and creates visual hierarchy, making your most important information stand out naturally.
