Use this interactive demo to learn how to group and organize images in your PowerPoint presentations.

‍

It is very easy to group images in PowerPoint. Here’s a short guide on how to do it in simple steps:

  1. Inside the slide canvas of your PowerPoint presentation, find and select the images you want to group. To do that, simply press and hold the 'Control' or 'Command' key while making the selection.
  2. After that, right-click on the selection to view the available options.
  3. Place your mouse cursor over the 'Group' option.
  4. Subsequently, tap 'Group' to proceed.
  5. Finally, the selected images in your PowerPoint presentation will be grouped accordingly.

📌 Why this matters

Grouping images lets you move, resize, and format multiple visuals as a single unit, preventing accidentally misaligning elements during edits. You can also apply effects like shadows or borders to the entire group at once, maintaining visual consistency across your presentation. This becomes especially valuable when creating complex layouts or infographics where precise positioning matters. When you need to duplicate slide elements or copy designs to other presentations, grouped images transfer together seamlessly, preserving their spatial relationships and saving you from tedious repositioning work.
