Use this interactive demo to learn how to fill the text with an image in PowerPoint.

‍

It is very easy to fill the text with an image in PowerPoint. Here’s a short tutorial on how to do it:

  1. Inside the slide canvas of your PowerPoint presentation, find and select the text you want to edit.
  2. Following that, head over to the top menu bar and click 'Shape Format'.
  3. Subsequently, click the 'Format Pane' option to proceed.
  4. Head over to the right-hand panel, then click the 'Text Options' tab.
  5. Under the Text Fill section, find 'Picture or Texture Fill' and then tap the radio button beside it.
  6. Click the 'Insert' button under the Picture Source section and then select the picture you wish to use.
  7. Finally, the selected text in your PowerPoint presentation will be filled with a picture.

📌 Why this matters

Text-filled images let you create striking visual headlines and branded elements that grab attention far better than plain text or separate graphics. This technique becomes particularly powerful when you're designing presentation covers, section dividers, or promotional slides where the text itself needs to be the hero element. Your audience processes visual information much faster than reading, so when critical messages become visual objects themselves, they're more likely to be remembered and shared beyond your original presentation.
