Use this interactive demo to learn how to record and add a voice-over to your Canva project.

Quick summary

Canva's built-in voice-over recording tool lets you record narration directly inside the editor using the Uploads panel, or upload a pre-recorded audio file from your computer. Once recorded, you can review, delete, and re-record before saving and sharing your final design.

Steps

  1. On the edit toolbar, click Uploads to open the uploads panel.
  2. Click Record yourself to open the voice-over recording interface.
  3. Click Record to start recording your voice-over.
  4. Once the voice-over recording is complete, click Done to proceed.
  5. If you want to redo the recording, click Delete to discard it and start again.
  6. Click Save and exit to save the recorded voice-over to your project.
  7. Alternatively, upload a voice-over file directly from your computer via the Uploads panel.
  8. Click Share to save and publish your final Canva design with the voice-over applied.

📌 Why this matters

Adding a voice-over to Canva presentations and videos makes content significantly more engaging, accessible, and informative for viewers. Canva's built-in voice-over recording feature eliminates the need for third-party audio tools, letting creators record, review, and attach narration directly within the design editor. This streamlines the content creation workflow for educators, marketers, and business professionals who need polished video presentations quickly. Whether you record live or upload a pre-recorded file, Canva's voice-over tool gives you full control over audio narration without leaving the platform.
