How to Detect Speakers in Descript

‍

‍

Here's how to do it:

‍

  1. Open an existing project or start a new one by clicking on "New Project".
  2. After transcription, Descript should automatically detect speakers if the audio is clear and has distinct voices.
  3. Go to the “Project” tab and click on the audio file you uploaded.
  4. Go to the audio settings, click "Detect Speakers," and choose the number of speakers in the audio.
  5. Wait for it to finish detecting speakers.
  6. You can also click on "Identify Speakers".
  7. Add the speaker's name, or select an existing name from the list, then click "Next."
  8. Once done, click Close and the Speaker labels will appear in your transcript.
