How to Define Experiment Goals in Amplitude

‍

‍

It is very easy to define experiment goals on Amplitude. Here’s a short tutorial on how to do it:

‍

  1. Inside Amplitude's Experiment Editor, find the Goal tab and click its corresponding 'Pencil' button.
  2. After that, go to the left-side panel and click the 'Define the Goal' menu.
  3. Tap 'Create a Custom Metric'. If you already have metrics in place, tap 'Select Metric' instead and pick the option you prefer to use.
  4. Following that, go to the Metric Editor panel. Tap the Title field and type your preferred metric name. At the same time, add a short description right below it.
  5. Specify your preferred 'Metric Type' and 'Event'. Simply tap their respective menus and pick your preferred options.
  6. Once done, tap 'Save and Close'.
  7. Review the goal, then tap 'Save'.
  8. After completing these steps, your experiment goals in Amplitude will be defined accordingly.
