Quick summary
Defining experiment goals in Amplitude lets you attach measurable custom metrics to any experiment so you can track the outcomes that matter most. This walkthrough covers every step from opening the Goal tab in the Experiment Editor to saving a fully configured goal metric.
Steps
- Inside Amplitude's Experiment Editor, find the Goal tab and click its corresponding Pencil button.
- Go to the left-side panel and click the Define the Goal menu.
- Tap Create a Custom Metric. If you already have metrics in place, tap Select Metric instead and pick your preferred option.
- In the Metric Editor panel, tap the Title field and type your preferred metric name, then add a short description below it.
- Specify your preferred Metric Type and Event by tapping their respective menus and selecting your preferred options.
- Once done, tap Save and Close.
- Review the goal, then tap Save.
- Your experiment goals in Amplitude are now defined and ready to track results.
