How to Create Net Promoter Score in SurveyMonkey

Use this interactive demo to learn how to build and send an NPS survey in SurveyMonkey.

Quick summary

SurveyMonkey lets you create a Net Promoter Score survey in minutes using a built-in NPS question template that automatically calculates your score. Once responses are collected, the Analyze Results tab displays your NPS calculation without any manual effort.


Steps

  1. Click the Create Survey button on the dashboard to start a new survey.
  2. In the Design Survey tab, open the Build menu and click Add next to Net Promoter Score.
  3. Review the default NPS question that SurveyMonkey inserts automatically.
  4. Click Save to confirm the NPS question has been added to your survey.
  5. Click Preview Survey to verify the survey looks correct before sending.
  6. Click Continue to proceed to the send stage.
  7. In the Collect Responses tab, select your preferred distribution method.
  8. Click Copy to share the NPS survey link with your audience.
  9. Go to Survey Options to customize language, survey end message, and email notifications.
  10. After collecting responses, navigate to Analyze Results to view the NPS score calculated automatically by SurveyMonkey.
