How to Create a Survey in HubSpot

Updated on:
May 8, 2026
By:
Madhav Bhandari
Use this interactive demo to learn how to build and publish a custom survey in HubSpot.

Quick summary

HubSpot's Surveys tool lets you create and publish fully custom feedback forms directly from the Automations menu, with support for email, shareable link, and webpage delivery. You can build your questionnaire using drag-and-drop components, attach a Feedback property to capture results, and share a live survey link — all without leaving HubSpot.

Steps

  1. Go to Automations > Surveys.
  2. Click Create Survey.
  3. Select Custom Survey to start from scratch.
  4. Choose your preferred delivery method: Email, Shareable Link, or a Webpage.
  5. Use the drag-and-drop components from the left column to build your questionnaire.
  6. Add questions to your survey.
  7. Add a Feedback property for capturing results.
  8. Click Next to proceed.
  9. Verify the correct field type (text or number) and click Next.
  10. Review your survey settings before publishing.
  11. Click Publish to make your survey live.
  12. Copy the survey link and share it to start collecting responses.

📌 Why this matters

HubSpot's built-in survey builder gives marketing and customer success teams a fast, no-code way to collect structured customer feedback directly within their CRM. By routing survey responses through a dedicated Feedback property, teams can tie satisfaction data to contact records and trigger follow-up automations — closing the loop between feedback and action. The ability to deliver surveys via email, shareable link, or embedded webpage means you can reach customers at the right moment in their journey. This makes HubSpot Surveys a powerful alternative to standalone tools for teams that already rely on HubSpot for contact management and lifecycle marketing.
