Use this interactive demo to learn how to generate and share reports directly from your Jira scrum board.

Quick summary

Creating a report in Jira requires enabling the Reports feature via Project Settings and selecting from built-in report templates. Once generated, reports can be instantly shared with teammates or stakeholders directly from the Jira board.

Steps

  1. On your scrum board, go to Project Settings in the left sidebar.
  2. Find and select Features on the left pane.
  3. Toggle ON the Report feature.
  4. Go back to your board and click on Reports.
  5. Choose from the list of available Report Templates.
  6. Hit the Share button on the top right of the report.
  7. Add the names of the People or Team you want to share the report with, then hit Share.

📌 Why this matters

Jira's built-in reporting features give agile teams instant visibility into sprint progress, cycle times, and delivery trends without leaving their project board. Enabling and sharing Jira reports helps project managers and scrum masters make data-driven decisions faster. With customizable report templates like burn-up charts and control charts, teams can track performance and communicate progress to stakeholders in just a few clicks. This makes Jira reporting an essential workflow for any team running agile or scrum projects.
