- Open Cisco Packet Tracer.
- In the device selection box at the bottom of the window, add two routers to the workspace.
- In the lower-left toolbar, click Connections, then select Copper Cross-Over.
- Connect the two routers using available GigabitEthernet ports.
- Click the first router, then open the CLI tab and configure the connected interface with an IP address and enable it.
- Click the second router, then open the CLI tab and configure the connected interface with an IP address in the same subnet and enable it.
- Wait for the link between the routers to turn green.
- In the CLI tab of one router, run a ping command to verify the connection.
