This tutorial shows you how to connect Google Analytics to Webflow by creating a GA4 property, retrieving the Measurement ID, and pasting it into your Webflow project's Apps & Integrations settings. Once published, your Webflow site will begin collecting traffic data visible in the Google Analytics Dashboard.
Steps
- Navigate to the Google Analytics page and click the Start measuring button to begin setup.
- Enter a name for your account.
- Scroll down and click Next to continue.
- Enter a name and other details for your Google Analytics 4 property and click Next.
- Describe your business and click Next.
- Pick the best options for your use case and click Create.
- Accept the terms by clicking I Accept to activate your GA account.
- Select Web as the platform for your Webflow project.
- Enter your project URL and a name for your analytics stream, then click Create & continue.
- Review the Google tag setup options; to use the G-ID method for Webflow, close this window to find your ID.
- Click on your stream listing to open its details.
- Under Stream details, copy the Measurement ID.
- Close the menu and click Next.
- Click Continue to go to the GA Home screen, completing the Google Analytics setup.
- Note that your analytics data will now begin to appear in this view.
- Switch to Webflow and go to your Dashboard.
- Locate your project and click the three dotted icon for more options.
- Select Settings from the dropdown menu.
- Go to the Apps & Integrations section from the left sidebar.
- Find the Google Analytics section and the Measurement ID field beneath it.
- Paste your Measurement ID into the field and click Save.
- A pop-up will confirm your changes have been saved.
- Publish your Webflow project to push all changes live and start collecting data in your Google Analytics Dashboard.
