Use this interactive demo to learn how to change the date on your PowerPoint slides.

‍

It is very easy to change the date on PowerPoint slides. Here’s a quick guide on how to do it:

  1. Inside the slide canvas of your PowerPoint presentation, head over to the top menu bar and click 'Insert'.
  2. Following that, find and select 'Header & Footer'.
  3. Under the Date and Time section, make sure that 'Fixed' is selected by default. To change the date, simply edit the original configuration based on your preference.
  4. Once done, click 'Apply' or 'Apply to All'.
  5. Finally, the date on your PowerPoint slides will be changed accordingly.

📌 Why this matters

Changing slide dates keeps your presentations current and professional, whether you're updating an old deck for a new meeting or customizing templates for different occasions. Beyond basic maintenance, this feature becomes crucial when you're presenting historical data or future projections where the slide date needs to match your content timeline. You can also use fixed dates strategically to create timeless presentations that don't reveal when they were originally created, maintaining their relevance across multiple uses.
