Quick summary
Adding sticky notes in PowerPoint is done by inserting a colored rectangle shape, filling it with a yellow or pastel color, and typing your note text directly into the shape. This method lets you place visual sticky note annotations anywhere on a slide without using the built-in notes panel.
Steps
- Go to the Insert tab in the PowerPoint ribbon.
- Click Shapes located in the Illustrations section of the ribbon.
- Select a Rectangle or Rounded Rectangle shape from the shapes panel.
- Draw the shape onto your slide to place it.
- Set the Shape Fill color to yellow or any sticky note color you prefer.
- Right-click the shape and select Edit Text to enable text entry inside it.
- Start typing your notes directly into the shape.
