Use this interactive demo to learn how to add multiple filters in Alteryx.

‍

It is very easy to add multiple filters in Alteryx. Here’s a short tutorial on how to do it in simple steps:

  1. Inside Alteryx's workflow designer, head over to the left-side panel and find 'Filter'. Drag this tool onto the canvas and connect it to the Input Data tool or other sources.
  2. After that, go to the right-hand panel and configure the given settings based on your preference. Specify the Column Name, Operator, and Value you prefer to use or add an advanced filter.
  3. Head back to the left-side panel, then drag another 'Filter' tool onto the canvas. Connect it to the same source of data.
  4. Subsequently, configure the second Filter tool according to your liking.
  5. Finally, multiple filters will be added to your Alteryx workflow.

📌 Why this matters

Multiple filters let you segment your dataset into distinct groups for parallel analysis without creating separate workflows. You can simultaneously identify high-value customers, flag data quality issues, and route records to different processing paths. Each filter creates its own output stream, so you're essentially splitting one dataset into multiple targeted subsets in a single operation. This approach keeps related logic centralized while enabling complex data routing scenarios that would otherwise require duplicate tools and messy workflow designs.
