Use this interactive demo to learn how to make any image clickable using a Link Block in Webflow.

Quick summary

In Webflow, you can add a link to an image by wrapping it inside a Link Block element from the Add Elements panel. Once the image is nested under the Link Block, you configure the URL and link behavior from the Settings tab in the right sidebar.

Steps

  1. Locate the image you wish to add a link to on your Webflow canvas.
  2. Open the Add Elements panel from the left sidebar menu.
  3. Under Basic blocks, find the Link Block element.
  4. Drag and drop the Link Block directly on top of your image.
  5. Alternatively, use the Navigator panel from the left sidebar to make the image a child of the Link Block.
  6. Verify that the Image is nested under the Link Block in the Navigator.
  7. With the Link Block selected, open the Settings tab from the right sidebar menu.
  8. Customize your link URL and link behavior settings.
  9. Use the Preview button at the top to test that the link works correctly.
  10. Your image now contains a clickable link that opens when clicked.

📌 Why this matters

Adding a link to an image in Webflow is a foundational skill for building interactive, conversion-focused websites without writing any code. The Link Block element lets designers wrap any image in a fully configurable hyperlink, enabling clickable banners, portfolio thumbnails, and call-to-action images. This no-code approach gives teams precise control over link destinations and behavior — such as opening in a new tab — directly inside the Webflow Designer. Mastering this technique helps Webflow users create richer user experiences and improve on-page navigation with minimal effort.
